Richard at Uni

Created by C 5 years ago

So sorry to hear about Richard.

My memories come from sharing a house with him at uni (hi Ed!). Richard had the top room, the 'penthouse', from where we could all climb out through the skylight onto the roof and watch the world go by.  I remember him playing a lot of classical music in his room. In the third year he and I had great plans for staging a production of Shakespeare's Henry V with the Drama Society. Richard had sorted the music out already, as he had the cd soundtrack of the Kenneth Branagh film, though needless to say he would be doing his own thing. Elgar's Nimrod would be playing under Henry's rousing speech before the battle. We had reached the point of looking at sharing directorial duties, but sadly the play did not take place.

Richard was a kind chap, a true gentleman, and although we lost touch after uni I often remembered our friendship then. Condolences to his family and friends.
